Wisdom n the tooth

Took out a wisdom tooth this afternoon. Was feverish n my tooth HURT. Couldn't swallow or chew properly, so thot I'd try my luck n see if my dentist had an available time slot. He did :) Thank God!

My dentist's rather grandfatherly n of the old school - where they dun cut u up unless it's absolutely necessary. This tooth has been troubling me for a while but I was advised to let it grow out more b4 pulling it, so tt they dun have to cut my gums to get to the tooth. Well, Dr Dentist took one look at my tooth today n said, "It'll have to come out. Do u have to go back to work later? Let's do it now."

I was caught off-guard. Now??? Today???

Dr Dentist got his colleague Oral Surgeon to come in n take a look at me cos it's gonna be surgery wif local anaesthetic n all. Oral Surgeon is a cheerful n comforting person, very chatty, trying to put me at ease.

I was trying to stall for time n asked if I could do it tmr afternoon instead. They were of the opinion tt I should do it today, then n there, since I'm already there n the inflamation is only going to get worse.

I was told to go down to the pharmacist n get the prescribed antibiotics n painkillers b4 coming back wif a decision.

I decided to call my boss first n let her know. Boss asked if I could postpone the op til Fri. I'm needed in the office to clear work n even if I'm on MC, I'll have to come in on Wed afternoon n Thurs morning anyway, for a presentation which I'm supposed to make.

Well.

I decided to go ahead wif the op. Might as well do it. God will give me the grace n favour to handle watever I needed to handle in the office.

The whole op took around 15 mins, from the time I sat in the dentist chair, got jabbed wif a few needles of LA on my gum, some waiting for it to take effect, then it was a cut n a painful tug. N the tooth was out.

I shall try to take a foto of it n post it up some time. Interestingly huge :) plus the nurse told me I've a rare 3-rooted tooth. In general, wisdom tooth comes wif only 2 roots, so I've one extra. Abundant blessings :) Heh.

Will be on MC til next week. Amazing Bean thinks I'm going to miss out on all the CNY goodies. Well, I think there's a plan n a timing for all this. Dunno why things happen the way they do n all at once too BUT God is on my side n His intentions towards me are of peace, to bless n of love.
